Why Placing a Business Card in the Local Paper Works

There's many great ways to market your business offline - from roadside advertising to flyers, and I want to look at one such method. One excellent way to market a business is to place an ad in the business card section of the local newspaper, especially if the business is a service based one. This is even more effective if the area the ad is being placed is a retirement area. Retirement towns or communities tend to house people that are not as familiar with using the internet. They also do not like to pay the sky high prices of the bigger chain stores. These people tend to read the paper almost on a ritualistic basis, thus they are quick to notice any ads that might benefit them. If a business has service prices that are significantly less than the chain stores or, at the very least, competitive with the chain stores then calls are likely to keep coming in. And, if these people like your work and prices the calls will continue to grow due to word of mouth.
